Inter-Counties Fell Running Championship 2016 

Staffordshire had a good day out at Moel Eilio. It was a hot day on a traditional tough fell course. Simon Bailey came close to winning the gold and the race, but had to settle for 2nd and silver. With strong backing from 25th-placed Rob Little and Will Neill, returning from injury, in 31st, the team came an excellent 4th. 

Dave Bethell, who stepped in at very late notice, ran well in 82nd place. In the ladies, unfortunately Nina Skilton had to be a late DNS, after a warm-up showed an existing injury hadn't healed. 

Becky Neill led the Staffs ladies home and was 6th U23. Deb Hope, gaining valuable experience, was 48th. Thank you to all the athletes who ran and a particular well done to silver-medallist Simon.
